Melania Wears Joseph Dress in Malawi

Thursday, October 04, 2018

Mrs. Trump continues her tour of Africa with a stop in Malawi, becoming the very first U.S. First Lady to visit the country.  It's the second stop on her four-country tour.  She was greeted by well-wishers and presented flowers by the cutest little girl, who seemed a bit shy to meet her.

The main reason for Mrs. Trump's visit is because of the low rate of education completed in the poverty-stricken country.  She was greeted by Malawian First Lady Gertrude Maseko Mutharika, who then accompanied her to Chipala Primary School to sit in on classes and interact with the school children.  Mrs. Trump also helped in gifting the kids with soccer balls customized with her “Be Best”initiative logo on them.  With literacy also a focus of her trip, she also increased the giving of 1.4 million books as part of U.S. Aid.

Melania chose the beige three-quarter-length sleeve button-down Warren dress by Joseph, a British brand beloved by Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge. She cinched the utility style dress with a thin leather belt.  She wore brown suede Manolo Blahnik BB pumps for her meet-and-greet then changed into her $50 Zara flats to play with the children during her school visit.

Mrs. Trump is headed to Kenya tomorrow.
